A Difficult Week

It has been a very difficult and tiring week for me. I returned from Australia on Monday evening, which has left me exhausted from jetlag, and on Wednesday afternoon my grandmother Marge passed away. In light of these events, I have been struggling to find the energy to remind you about the Living at the Edge Program that my Dad and I will be hosting next week on Tuesday June 12, 2007. I have been looking forward to seeing you all at this program and we still have room for more! I encourage you all to join us!

I would like to tell you two quick stories that have been on my mind about two very special people in my life that passed away this week:

My grandmother, Marjorie Britton passed away yesterday at the age of 81 years old. She was a wonderful, loving grandmother who made the best frosted sugar cookies and chocolate-coconut bars this side of the Mississippi. In fact, one of my fondest memories of Marge is the look on her face whenever I would eat these delicious treats. With every passing bite, the smile on Marge’s face would grow wider with more and more happiness. In these moments, Marge’s delight was truly palpable and her memory will not soon be forgotten!

On June 7, 1981, a similar event in my life was the catalyst for the transformative workshops and programs that I am presenting currently with my father. My birth mother, Diane, passed away twenty-six years ago today. With her passing, our family faced a challenging circumstance in our lives. By embracing the zest for life that Diane showed even in the late stages of cancer, we were able to come together to support each other to learn a series of very important lessons: Life goes on even in the face of challenging circumstances; in these moments, we have the opportunity to engage in a powerful transformational learning experience; and with the right tools and a supportive community, we can face these circumstances, transform our experience of them, and live life to the fullest!

I hope that these two stories will resonate with each of you. My goal is not to convince, cajole or guilt-trip you into coming to the program, but rather to peak your interest for this exciting opportunity that we can share together. We all have challenging circumstances in our lives, no matter how small or seemingly inconsequential, and the exploration of the roots of these challenges will provide you with powerful insight into your life!

The event will be held on June 12, 2007 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm at 594 Marrett Road Suite #15 in Lexington, MA. Please RSVP to max@c4ql.org or give me a call with any questions at 781-223-3284. A donation of $18 will be requested for the program.
